We have all heard the saying, "Like father like son". Tyler is a mix of Dave and I, but he has really been taking on some of Dave's qualities. He just adores Dave right now. His most recent fedish is going to watch Dave play frisbee. He knows when Dave's goes to play frisbee because Daddy takes his cleats. Now, Tyler wants to wear his own cleats and go to the field to watch daddy and to play frisbees. Between balls and frisbees, this kid could not be happier. We bought him an indoor frisbee, which we have now duck taped twice and it is irreparable after Ty destroyed it this afternoon. He can catch it and throw it also. Following in his fathers footsteps, he only wants to wear mesh shorts and sweatpants now. He gets really upset when you try to put jeans on him sometimes. I guess he just wants to be comfortable. It is really special to see he and Dave together wrestling, jumping, playing with blocks, reading stories, tickling, and rough housing. Dave is such a great dad. He really spends quality time with him and Tyler just soaks it up.
A while ago I told Dave that I wanted to take him ice skating. I know he loves it and we don't get to experience winter much here in So. Cal. Back in the day, Dave was a great hockey player and could skate really fast. We haven't been in years though. Pasadena has a nice ice rink that we decide to visit. We took Tyler and it just so happened they had skates his size, so we got him out on the ice also. He didn't know what to do with it in the beginning. Dave took him for lap after lap and he warmed up to it. By the end, he was walking in the skates. At first he wanted Dave to carry him. All in all we had a great family outing!
We let Tyler choose his shoes to wear and he wanted to wear his bear slippers. So random:)
