Our little Toddler

This week has been a tough one. Tyler was sick and got two teeth. Mommy was sick for a day and Tyler did not sleep well most of the week. He is still having a tough time. Despite these conditions, he is walking all over the house now without holding on to things. He is so proud of himself. He walks around with a big smile on his face most of the time.
He is waiting with anticipation to meet his first boy cousin that will be born in the next two weeks or so. His Aunt Christy and Uncle Tony are going to have a baby soon.
The week ended well when we celebrated Daddy's birthday yesterday with some of his close friends. We went to Korean BBQ in stylish 80's sweaters. Most of which were ugly. Many of them were purchased at the thrift store down the street. Godfather Paul won the Ugliest Sweater contest. It has fuzzies on it. Daddy had to wear a belt with his because it was an XXL. Mommy and Elizabeth crimped their hair and everyone else had fun participating.
After dinner we all went back to the house for some cappuccino, hot chocolate, tea and dessert. We played a "How well do you know Dave?" game and Stephanie won. Dave tried out the new espresso machine I got him for his birthday. Unfortunately, we have to send it back because it has a leak:( But, it worked for the party. Elizabeth played some 80's music which was a lot of fun.

Tyler's sweater was not ugly, but it was from the 80's. It was Dave's sweater when he was little. It has his initials on it.

Andrew did not time to get a sweater:(

My First Haircut

We went to Little Kutz in Pasadena yesterday for Tyler's first hair cut. He sat still the whole time while Karen cut his hair. She gave him a little certificate with a lock of his hair for his baby book. It was sad to cut off his little curlz in the back of his head, but we are really happy with how it turned out. He looks like a little toddler now, rather than a baby:) She even spiked it at the end. After the hair cut we went and picked out a Christmas tree.

Tour de Midwest Part 2

Tyler is a little travel champ. We took 4 flights, totaling about 10 hours and drove a total of 14.5 hours in one week. He was a real trooper. In the middle of all the traveling he got to see his Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncle's, cousins and friends.
We started by flying into St. Louis where Grandma Knight picked us up. We spent a few days in Greenville where daddy went hunting with Grandpa Knight and Uncle Tony. Mommy and I spent time with Grandma Knight and Great Grandma Aten. Then, Grandpa Knight drove us to Indianapolis where we rented a car and drove up to The Nolls house. When we got to the Nolls we got to see Tyler's baby cousin Delaney Joy. She was so precious. The next day we drove to Michigan were we stopped to see our friends Adam, Becca and Sophia Carpenter. We spent the day in Jackson, had dinner at Daryl's Restaurant, sat in the hot tub, hung out with Gma and Gpa, then drove back to Fort Wayne. We made a Thanksgiving Dinner at Lindsay and Brad's house. Gigi Jackson came to visit on their way to Florida for the winter. We spent some quality time together with the Olson family before flying back to Los Angeles.
Tyler slept well most of the time we were gone. He got a little bit of a runny nose from Bree, but felt pretty good most of the time. His borthday gift from Gma and pa Knight(portable DVD player) came in very useful numerous times on this trip. Tyler loved watching his baby Einstein videos while we traveled:) He started walking more while we were at Brad and Lindsay's house with all the encouragement and attention.
Overall, we are very thankful for the opportunity we all had to see our families this holiday season. We hope eevryone else had a very Happy Holiday as well.

Tyler's First Birthday

It was an exciting weekend for the Knight family. We celebrated Tyler's 1st Birthday. There was lots of love for him and for mommy:) Daddy took mommy to the Melting Pot for a birthing day dessert celebration. He also got her a dozen white and purple roses too. Mommy made Tyler birthday blueberry pancakes with a candle in the morning. He loved them.
On Saturday, we had a birthday party out by our pool. It was a jungle theme. Mommy made me a special lion cake and she made a double layered cake for everyone else. In honor of Tyler's Godparents, Paul and Anne Kim, we did a traditional Korean 1st Birthday celebration (Dol). It consists of a prayer for child, special table set up with pillars of candy and stacks of fruit, a grabbing ceremony (which tells what his future will be like). For the grabbing, Tyler picked the pen for a future of scholarship and a roll of thread for long life. Lots of his friends came to celebrate with him and he had fun socializing. He was very happy until mommy went to put the birthday hat on an it snapped Ty's chin. He cried:( He got into the cake a little bit, but not totally. He got his charactature drawn by his friend Isaiah. He really appreciates all the fun new toys and clothes. All in all, it was a fun party and a great 1st birthday. Now on to being a toddler:)

October Fun and Almost One

We have had a lot of fun lately. Tyler is moving all over with his wounded leg crawl and walking from one thing to the next. He is in exploration mode. Last week Ty and I took a last minute flight to Indiana to visit his Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Brad and Cousin Bree. We were hoping to meet baby Noll, but she decide to stay put a little longer, so we will meet her over Thanksgiving when we are back there. Tyler loved spending time with his cousin Bree. They went to the park, the library, walks and out to eat. Aunt Lindsay took me to visit her friends and we had a girls night. We went to Uncle Brads office and got to see his family.

Tyler's friend Sophia came down to visit for the day. They had a fun time. Thanks to Becca for driving down to see us. We miss you guys.

We took the kids trick or treating in Sierra Madre. The street was decorated with all sorts of Halloween decorations.

Pumpkin Patch

We were really want a taste of fall here in Southern California, so we found this pumpkin patch at Cal Poly Pomona University. It would have felt more like fall, except it was 90 degrees outside. It was beautiful though! There were thousands of pumpkins...the largest patch of pumpkins I have ever seen. This festival is only two days out of the year.Tyler and I just got over being sick, so we enjoyed getting out of the house and doing something fun. We even picked out a pumpkin to bring home. We went with our good friends Chris, Elizabeth and Ethan Waters.

11 Months

Our little booboo is almost a year old. One more month and we will celebrate his 1 year birthday. This has been a tough month for Ty. He started standing in his crib and wouldn't sleep very well. Then, he got sick for the second time in his life and he is still fighting it off. We started with a fever and lack of sleep for two days and two nights. He hasn't slept well since then. The first two nights he would only sleep on mommy and daddy, which means they did not get much sleep. Then, they both got sick. Grandma and Grandpa Knight came to town and saved the day. They helped mommy and daddy with lots of things and spent time with Ty even though he was crabby.
He is gabbing up a storm now. He says, mama, dada babba, dododada, wawa, lala, iyiyiyi and more. He is 30 inches long and 19 lbs. He wears 12 months size clothes now and is cruising around the house crawling and walking.

This is me playing with the hay at a pumpkin festival near the Rose Bowl. My friend Clayton and I went there with our mommy's.

Our neighbors gave us this neat bike seat. Mommy and Daddy like to take me for rides in it.

This is me and Sophia on the night she moved:( I miss her, but I am happy for her family.
