Pumpkin Patch

We were really want a taste of fall here in Southern California, so we found this pumpkin patch at Cal Poly Pomona University. It would have felt more like fall, except it was 90 degrees outside. It was beautiful though! There were thousands of pumpkins...the largest patch of pumpkins I have ever seen. This festival is only two days out of the year.Tyler and I just got over being sick, so we enjoyed getting out of the house and doing something fun. We even picked out a pumpkin to bring home. We went with our good friends Chris, Elizabeth and Ethan Waters.

11 Months

Our little booboo is almost a year old. One more month and we will celebrate his 1 year birthday. This has been a tough month for Ty. He started standing in his crib and wouldn't sleep very well. Then, he got sick for the second time in his life and he is still fighting it off. We started with a fever and lack of sleep for two days and two nights. He hasn't slept well since then. The first two nights he would only sleep on mommy and daddy, which means they did not get much sleep. Then, they both got sick. Grandma and Grandpa Knight came to town and saved the day. They helped mommy and daddy with lots of things and spent time with Ty even though he was crabby.
He is gabbing up a storm now. He says, mama, dada babba, dododada, wawa, lala, iyiyiyi and more. He is 30 inches long and 19 lbs. He wears 12 months size clothes now and is cruising around the house crawling and walking.

This is me playing with the hay at a pumpkin festival near the Rose Bowl. My friend Clayton and I went there with our mommy's.

Our neighbors gave us this neat bike seat. Mommy and Daddy like to take me for rides in it.

This is me and Sophia on the night she moved:( I miss her, but I am happy for her family.

10 Months

Tyler is a mover and a shaker now. He loves to walk around the house while holding on to things. We have been moving things around and putting things away.
Daddy is more clean than ever. Tyler's new trick is to stand up in his crib. Last week, he kept mommy up four nights in a row trying to show her his new trick. Mommy was exhausted. Daddy ended up getting up with me a few nights to give mommy a break. I have been sleeping better since then. Mommy read that this is a developmental stage that I will cause me to be in a lighter sleep state throughout the night and wake more easily, because I am learning something new.

Here are my best friends...Ethan (7 months), Clay (6months), and me(10 months). This picture is deceiving. Clay is actually bigger than me:)

I love my truck.

This is me after bathtime. Mommy and Daddy have a hard time getting my diaper on now, because I am a wiggle worm.

Like Father, Like Son

Tyler is almost 10 Months. He is so very active and fun to play with now. We are trying to get him to crawl before he walks. He loves to walk though. Yesterday he was pushing his dump truck across the floor by himself. He loves to imitate daddy, as you can see in the picture below. Like father like son:)
Below is a picture of Ty in a swing at the park. He loves to swing.

The other night we went to Venice beach. It was crazy...even more than usual for those of you that have been there. There were so many people. I think it was because it was Labor day weekend. The sky was clear and the sunset was beautiful. We enjoyed putting Tyler in the sand and in the ocean. He actually liked the sand this time and he loved the ocean. The pictures are not very good quality because they are taken with Dave's cell phone.

Dave's dad used to do this with him when he was little.

Daddy is home:)

So much has happened in the last few days. Daddy flew in last night from South Korea, where he has been the last few days debriefing his missions trip to Kazakhstan with our church. The flight got in at 3:59pm which was morning in Korea. It took them about and hour and a half to get through customs. Needless to say, Dave looked wiped out. The team had a great trip and had a lot to report this morning in church.

Below is a picture that my friend Jamie Dulaney took of the fires in La Canada. They are about 5-10 miles from our house, but we are not in danger.

Below is a picture of 6/8 members of the team and others that picked them up at the airport.
Mommy is VERY happy to have daddy home:)

I am happy to have daddy home too. I couldn't keep my hands off of him. I wanted to snuggle with him at the airport.

Here is a pic of the team sharing at church on Sunday.
While Daddy was gone, mommy and I went to the TV set of "The Doctors". We had our own dressing room backstage to get ready. We were on the show to ask a question to the doctors. The show will be aired the week of Sept. 14th.

Paramount Studios lot where we picked up a golf cart that took us to Stage 30 for the taping.

Mommy got her hair and make up done by professionals. They picked out my outfit from a stack of cloths that mommy brought for me.

Grandma and Grandpa Olson got to go with us and be in the audience. They also helped with me back stage. Grandma was especially excited because we walked out with all the doctors and the producer after the show and she got to talk to them:)

I was so tuckered out yesterday after church that I feel asleep in the car and stayed asleep while daddy carried me in the house. I took a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon. Daddy was tired too, since he woke up at 2:30am and went for a 2 hour walk. He is still adjusting to the 16 hour time difference. The next day, mommy helped him stay awake all day so he could sleep better last night and he did.
